Exhibitions and Collections


The museum houses a historical and modern collection that includes furniture, silver, glass, textile, ceramics and design from the 15th. century up till today. Treasures from all over Europe and Japan can be seen here. The Belgian architect Henry van de Velde designed an interior especially for the museum in 1907, this can be seen i the ground floor. The museum's exhibition of Japanese arts and Crafts is the only of it's kind in Norway.
